Robotics Teacher Training Schedule for 2024

By Jesse Flot

A new year means a new training schedule! We are excited to share our comprehensive robotics teacher training schedule for 2024. We're offering a diverse range of training options, both onsite and online, to fit your learning preferences and needs. I hope that we have the opportunity to work with you and help support your goals in 2024!

ON-SITE SUMMER 2024:
Onsite training is conducted at the National Robotics Engineering Center (NREC) in Pittsburgh, PA. The NREC is part of the Carnegie Mellon University Robotics Institute, a world-renowned robotics organization. During our week-long training, Carnegie Mellon Robotics Academy trainers guide teachers and coaches through research-based best practices, coding, troubleshooting, and pedagogy with robots. Participants get access to curricular materials, presentations, program solutions, and other resources, as well as the opportunity to become a Carnegie Mellon Robotics Academy Certified Instructor.

LEGO SPIKE PRIME On-Site Training:

  • June 24th - 28th, 2024
  • August 5th - 9th, 2024

VEX V5 On-Site:

ANYTIME ONLINE TRAINING

As always, we also offer teacher training for our SMART Robotics Technician Courses and older robotics platforms through our "Anytime Online" format. Anytime Online classes feature a hybrid learning model where participants receive just-in-time instructional videos as they work through course content in our learning management system. We ask participants to "put on their student hats" to engage with course materials and build their content knowledge, and then switch on their "teacher hats" to understand how to successfully implement course topics with students. All participants are paired with one of our instructors for any and all additional support needed throughout the course.

ON DEMAND (CUSTOM) TRAINING

Need robotics training that doesn't quite fit one of the formats above? Our On Demand Training option provides a flexible and convenient training experience to help schools and educational organizations incorporate robotics into their curriculum. Our highly-qualified instructors will tailor the training materials to meet the specific needs of your educators and provide training either online or at your location.

We are able to support tailored On Demand training for platforms including LEGO SPIKE Prime, LEGO SPIKE Prime Essentials, LEGO EV3, Arduino with Parallax ShieldBot, REV DUO, Nvidia Jetson Nano, VEX V5, VEX EXP, and VEX IQ. Training may also be provided or supplemented with Virtual Robot Curriculum as well as additional robot platforms not already listed.
