Robotics Academy Certified ROBOTC Training for LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3 (On-site)


Five days of on-site, hands-on training where you will learn how to teach using ROBOTC to program LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3 Robots.


On-site classes fill up rapidly. Early registration is recommended.

Robotics Academy on-site training includes:

 Introduction to LEGO hardware and the EV3 controllers
– Introduction to the ROBOTC programming language
– Building and operating your first robot
– Programming with sensors – touch, sound, light, ultrasonic, encoder
– How to incorporate remote control into your programming
– Advanced programming concepts – loops, conditional statements, variables
– Advanced sensors – acceleration, color, compass
– Teaching and classroom tools
– Troubleshooting and tips
– Tour of the National Robotics Engineering Center


Requirements


Class attendees use Robotic Academy’s computers, robot kits, curriculum and programming software during the week. No extra purchases of any hardware or software for this course are necessary.

If you would like to purchase additional Robotics Education materials through our store to use at home after training, you can do so by visiting the Robomatter Store.

Tuition Cost – $999


Tuition includes 5 days of on site training and use of Robotic Academy’s computers, robot kits, curriculum and programming software during the week. You do not need to purchase any hardware or software for this course. Lunch is provided as part of tuition Monday through Thursday.

Schedule


Monday – Thursday class sessions start at 9:00 am and end at 4:00 pm. Friday class ends at noon. Lunch is provided Monday through Thursday. Other meals, transportation and lodging are not included.

The Robotics Academy is located within the National Robotics Engineering Center, which is located in the Lawrenceville section of Pittsburgh, PA.

Lodging


Guests are encouraged to consider staying at the Shadyside Inn. The Shadyside Inn is located a few miles from the NREC, offers shuttle service, and is located near Pittsburgh’s eclectic Walnut St. Many teachers have stayed at the Inn and endorsed its amenities. Be sure to ask about their special University Rates.

To be fair to the registrants in the sessions, we cannot give refunds once a class is full.

Upon Completion

– ACT 48 credits / 36 hours per class (for Pennsylvania teachers only)
– Certificate of Completion for course ‘graduates’ – may be used to apple for Continuing Education hours
– Data CD containing worksheets, presentations, programs, and images used by presenters during week of training
