Using Robotics to Teach Computational Thinking Practices

Happy Computer Science Week!

Computational Thinking (CT) has been identified as a new basic skill that all kids should develop. Most teachers, including myself, never formerly studied computer science or computational thinking and so it takes a bit of our personal time to decipher what this means to me as a classroom teacher. I’ve been lucky enough to have the time to study what CT is and am currently working with a team of folks to develop a set of best practices on how to integrate Computational Thinking Practices (CTP) into classroom lessons. If you teach robotics, then I think that you will find that our work is both thought revealing and relatively easy to implement. To learn how to integrate CTP into your class click here.

I hope that you enjoy the article! If you have additional questions contact me. Regards, Robin
